Blargh. I'm not having a good day with Tech. My network switch has a power saving feature of switching off unused ports. This means I can't get Wake-on-LAN to work on my network, so can't leave my computer turned off if I think I might want to use it while I'm away from home.

The switch is saving milliwatts by turning the port off. My computer uses hundreds of watts when it's left on. So much for saving power!

I don't recommend Netgear switches 🙁

Early in 2010, Caroline and I went on a ride on the Millenium Eye in London. It was dusk, and we saw some lovely views over the Thames. It was a bit hazy, so not completely spectacular, but lovely.
