Airplane in Russell Square

Spotted this on Google Maps today. It’s amazingly clear, and looks pretty large. A quick Google shows I’m not the first to spot it, and the photo was probably taken by a plane at about twice the altitude of the airliner.

Home sweet home

The results of this experiment are impressive. The font looks kind of smudgey, like old books whose type has leaked a little into the paper. However, it’s very readable, and has a lot of character (despite being ‘average’).

I like the name, too.

This 3D printing gets more and more real. It was only about 2 years ago that I read Cory Doctorow’s stories about 3D printing and intellectual property law. Printcrime is a short story definitely worth reading.
