View it in Safari or Chrome. It’s pioneering, so can be quite buggy, but very ambitious. The content seems pretty interesting, too.

The MacBook Air Turns Four Years Old Today →

January 18th, 2012

The MacBook Air is growing up.

Four years ago today, Apple introduced the MacBook Air, then the world’s thinnest notebook. It was Steve Jobs’s last Macworld appearance and the next to last Macworld keynote for Apple.

From an intriguing but impractical high-end niche to the industry standard in just four years.

Real-Life Examples of How Google →

January 12th, 2012

Why does that matter? It’s Google’s search engine, after all! Two reasons.

The first is legal. By having a dominant position in search, Google might ultimately be responsible for going above-and-beyond to include competitors. That’s part of what the current anti-trust investigations into Google are all about. One complaint over today’s move — though likely mostly about privacy — is already being readied.

The second is about relevancy. Google’s job as a search enginehttp://searchengineland.com/search-engines-should-be-like-santa-107400 is to direct searchers to the most relevant information on the web, not just to information that Google may have an interest in.

These suggestions would be better if they included other services, and that’s the standard Google’s search results should aim for, returning the best.

Will Oscar be present at his baby shower? →

January 11th, 2012

This website gives you the probability of your child being born on any given day. It has great breakdown of the probabilities over time, and takes into account whether he’s been born yet (i.e. the chance he’ll be born on a particular day rises as you approach that day, and he hasn’t yet been born)

So, given Oscar hasn’t been born yet and is due on Jan 29, there’s a 2% chance he’ll be born before Saturday: the day of his baby shower.

Confusingly, that probability will decrease tomorrow. Tomorrow, he’ll be more likely to be born on Friday (since he hasn’t been born today) but there’ll be less time between now and the baby shower, so less chance he’ll be born before the baby shower.
